Knight’s Armament SR15, KS2 14.5″ Upper Receiver Kit (R)

The KS-2 features a standard profile 14.5” (368mm) cold hammer forged barrel, the most widely accepted general-purpose carbine barrel length. It is a light weight, high performing, feature-rich option. The 12.75” (324mm) handguard allows multiple devices, such as laser pointers and night vision devices, to be placed on the top rail, in conjunction with the primary optic.

The KS-series of carbines is the next step in Knight’s continued refinement of the AR-15 platform. Improvements have been made to ergonomics, maintenance procedures, and function. The self-indexing, highly efficient Mod 2 gas system has been retained in this latest iteration. The straight gas tube design and an “AN”-type fitting minimizes gas pressure loss between the gas block and the carrier key, and is easily removed and replaced in case of damage or wear. The gas block is held in place with a nut threaded to the barrel, simplifying removal and re-installation without the need to alter the barrel to allow fitment of taper-pins or set screws. The risk of misaligning the gas block with the gas port is eliminated by physical features which ensure that the parts are in proper position during assembly.

URX6 Handguard

The URX6 is a self-indexing, highly shift-resistant handguard with a full-length 12:00 MIL-STD 1913 interface rail as well as 7-sides of M-LOK negative-space mounting slots. This handguard slides over the attached barrel nut, aligned by an anti-rotation index tab and slot feature contained in the top rail of the upper receiver. The anti-rotation and alignment features are stream-lined and unobtrusive, with no external snag or catch points. The handguard is affixed with a retention nut that creates significant load to the attachment point of the handguard, making the handguard extremely resistant to shift caused by impact.

E3.2 Bolt
The KAC E3.2 bolt improves upon the durability and functionality of our renowned E3 bolt design. The E3.2 bolt directly addresses ejection performance, specifically when using a suppressor with a short-barreled carbine. Dual ejectors allow reduced wear and longer life compared to the legacy standard single ejector, with a longer duration of ejection force applied to the case head due to the ejector locations.
