 Weapon was disassembled, Eotech was mounted, and tape was applied to areas that needed it: sights, moving parts, openings, mounting areas for optics assemblies (where the scope mount is on the side). I set aside the trigger assembly, and painted the rifle as two halves, this served two purposes, it is much easier than trying to tape off the cracks of the rifle without getting outlines, and also I live in a residential apartment complex, and painting outside can be a spectator sport, this lowers the signature when it's only a stock or only an upper receiver. I was sure to mask off the serial numbers and the dials and corresponding hash marks to ensure that these functions would still be useful once painting was complete. To block off the muzzle from paint I rolled up a torn portion of a cereal box and inserted it into the barrel.
