Too many things in life are more complicated than they need to be. Body armor is no exception. It should provide appropriate protection against the threats you're actually likely to face, fit well and be comfortable, effectively maximize attachment space, be fast and easy to take on and off, as well as be constructed tough enough to reliably withstand the rigors of hard daily use in extreme environments. The Maniple-I vest is designed and built to excel in all of these areas. The Maniple-I is a hybrid creation between the Cohort-I and Hastati-I tactical armor carriers and shares features and benefits of each. It has the streamlined profile and thinner shoulder straps of the Hastati, with the side protection and MOLLE real estate of the Cohort. It is slightly easier to get on and off, but is not compatible with Bicep Protectors. Features: -Wide adjustability range, form-fitting contour and oversize shoulder straps hold the weight of the unit close to the body (without constricting the wearer's breathing). -Even load distribution across its contact surface. -Securely maintains your equipment in the same place every time, despite whatever vigorous activity you may be engaged in or how quickly you throw it on. -All seams are double-stitched and only the most durable of materials are utilized. -Universal front, rear and side ESAPI/ESABI plate pouches. -Streamlined soft armor panel compartments. -Pull handles on all of the opening edges with a semi-quick-release design that can be put back together as quickly as it comes apart (a few seconds). -Made in USA Berry Compliant Owner's Notes: I F#CKING LOVE THIS VEST!!! The simplicity of the design, and just the all around (albeit mainly aesthetic) aggressive presentation of the design is awesome on this vest. My only issues with the design were it takes a non-standard soft armor, though it fits numerous patterns out there (MBAV, Plate Backers, Side Armor Inserts, Side Hard Armor). This vest was only worn administratively and was intended for use as a personal rig, but that never came to fruition as all the training I did was with issued armor and on military ranges. As I prep for an upcoming combat rotation I have to cut out my old kit and sadly this is one of the items I don't see myself using in the foreseeable future. So, I am passing it on. The vest has very limited use, but it is used, and thus I have passed the savings on to the next guy by reducing the price. This is a discontinued vest that was produced in limited numbers, it is already a collector's item. |
