The sling becomes a component of the releasable mechanism and allows the weapon to instantly and reliably release from the vest when the cut-away pillow is pulled. It also eliminates two other common problems with vest mounted sling systems; 1) It uses a strap that comes over the shoulder and connects low in the back allowing the weight of a loaded weapon to be spread out over a larger area. 2) It doesn't pull the front of the vest down and reduce your armor coverage like slings that attach on or near the shoulder strap. Included in the price of the sling is one female fastex adapter. The sling is also fully compatible with any other female adapters in BFG's SOC-C Modular Sling System including those found in our Contractor Pak.
